UHPL provides Air Logistic Support services to long-term projects primarily in the oil and gas industry. It has established an outstanding record in flying for off shore Oil and Gas industry in the country. Safety

In UHPL it is a known fact that reliability is the customers’ first priority while choosing the Service Provider. Flight safety has become a culture and this encompasses every individual in the company, be it the Management, Air Crew, Maintenance Crew, Administration Personnel and the Non technical personnel- all are considered vital to the team in enhancing the safety culture. The company has a full time Accident Prevention Advisor who has the experience of many years in all aspects of aviation. The company has a documented Safety Policy and the guidelines as stipulated in the company’s “Safety Management Systems” manual which implemented meticulously. The company adopts the Safety Standards which are at par with the best in the industry.

Accidents are extremely expensive and hence it is more cost effective to put in place all safety precautions and avoid the accidents at all costs. Thus air safety is given the highest priority in the company and it over rides commercial and operational considerations.

UHPL fleet has logged over 57000 flying hours till date with “ZERO” accident record in past 15 years of flying. In recognition of the outstanding achievement, Bell Helicopters Textron awarded UHPL "Certificate of Recognition" for achieving the highest safety record. UHPL is the only Indian Helicopter Company to receive such award in 2007 and in 2008.

Maintenance

UHPL is certified to undertake maintenance of four types of helicopters i.e. Bell, Eurocopters, Sikorsky and Dhruv (Advanced Light Helicopter). UHPL has all the required facilities such as well equipped hangar, Battery Charging, Avionics Workshop, General Workshop and Torque Calibration facilities that are approved by the office of the DGCA. It is well equipped to provide maintenance support to various types of aircrafts, to ensure that they are always in peak operating condition. UHPL has built its own new hangar in Juhu Airport. This hangar has all the latest facilities for undertaking all types of maintenance. This facility is approved by DGCA for maintenance of Bell 212, Bell 412, Advanced Light Helicopters (Dhruv) and EC-120 helicopters. The company has adequate number of engineers who are highly qualified and they undertake extensive maintenance servicing upto and including check "D" level (3000 Hours / 5 Years Inspection).

The company’s engineers have undergone training at manufacturers’ facility, which gives them in depth knowledge of aircrafts. Some of the most experienced and technically qualified personnel of the aviation industry oversee the technical activities of the company. The stores are maintained under the supervision of a DGCA approved Stores Supervisor. Company has Licenced Engineers with experience on Bell 212 / 412, Dauphin 365N, Sikorsky 76C+, ALH (Dhruv), EC120B and AW139 type of helicopters.

Flying Experience

UHPL is one of the most experienced helicopter operators in the country, with many hours safely logged in some of the harshest flying environment. The company’s fleet of helicopters has logged 57000 hours of flying in India – both on shore and off shore. The company has been able to maintain “Zero Accident Record” for all these years. The senior management personnel have extensive aviation management experience and are exposed to all aspects of operations.





Training

Learning is a continuous process and hence the company imparts training at all stages on an “ongoing” basis. The aircrew undergo training programmes such as “HUET”, “CRM”, “Dangerous Goods” and also undergo proficiency checks at periodic intervals. Pilots undergo simulator training as part of their conversion training and also proficiency training. All pilots undergo regular proficiency checks as per DGCA norms.

All the engineers are sent abroad to manufacturers’ facility for training on type. Regular refresher training is carried out with in-house trainers as well as experts from outside. The company has initiated the programme of conducting “Human factors” courses for all maintenance Personnel which includes Licenced Engineers and aircraft technicains.

The company also ensures that Fire Fighting Training, First Aid Training, Human Factor Training and Dangerous Goods Training are imparted to all the personnel on regular basis.

Audits

The company has been audited by a large number of International Audit companies and has always met the International norms in the operations and engineering standards. Besides the external audit, the company has a system of internal audits, which are carried out by a team with the Quality Assurance Manager as the Team Leader. This system has ensured that there are sufficient checks and balances in place for correct implementation of all Quality Control procedures.
